The paper focuses on the impact of a change in the nature of the European Union’s competence to conclude international agreements where the conclusion of an international agreement is provided for in a legally binding act of the European Union as a result of the adoption of the Lisbon Treaty. The ambition is to uphold the thesis of the absence of added value of such category of EU power as it found its place in Art. 216 (1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
