Criminal policy (in the context of global development)

On the background of cooperation between criminal law and criminology, the author analyzes their relationship, specifies their intersections and points out the possibilities of mutual enrichment. It highlights the role of the method of comparison in criminology, as well as the need to compare crime and its control internationally. The application of alternative elements in criminal policy within the Slovak Republic is insufficient. The author therefore suggests possible trends in criminal policy in the sphere of restorative justice and the imposition of alternative sanctions.
