Historical Development of Temporary Employment Agencies

The provision of employment services in the labour market is increasingly complex. The current state of the issue is determined by its 144 historical context. The state originally wanted to provide these services itself, but failed in many ways when it was unable to provide its citizens with services of sufficient quality. However, the private sector has also failed, often providing these services for high fees, which has earned it criticism and the need for legal regulation. The current legal framework is thus determined primarily by the Conventions and Recommendations of the International Labour Organisation, which focus on agency work. This article analyses the historical development of agency employment from its origins to the present day, mainly through the ILO regulations, which have also been binding on Slovak Republic.
