Abstract

The article examines the phenomenon of green FinTech from an interdisciplinary perspective – from the viewpoint of financial law, regulation, and digital technologies. Green FinTech, defined as a technology-driven innovation in financial services that enhances transparency and efficiency of sustainable financing, represents a strategic tool for directing capital towards environmentally responsible projects in the context of global climate challenges and the Paris Agreement. The author analyzes the conceptual delineation of green FinTech in relation to green, sustainable, and eco-innovation, its technological core (blockchain, AI, big data), the legal-regulatory framework (EU Green Deal, SFDR, EU Taxonomy, DSA), and key products (green loans, ESG platforms, carbon footprint compensation tools). In conclusion, the author emphasizes the need for quality regulation including sandboxes, credible ESG methodologies, and balancing innovation with consumer protection, as well as space for empirical research on the impacts of green FinTech in the EU legal space. The article provides groundwork for developing effective financial-legal policies aimed at decarbonization and the green digital economy.
