Abstract

The article focuses on the issue of the Register of Public Sector Partners, a unique Slovak solution to the issue of regulation of beneficial owners of legal entities. During the period preceding the adoption of the register, the participation of companies with opaque ownership structures in public procurement was perceived as a serious social problem. The aim of the Register of Public Sector Partners was to reveal the ownership structures of companies that receive funds from the state. The article analyzes the success of the register in fulfilling the stated social goal on the basis of evaluating the data contained in the register and also takes into account the facts that limit the register in fulfilling this goal.
